That family used the kitchen every day and the guest bath maybe twice a month. That was fine. I understood. That was where they lived.
In another home in Del Ray, the entire family had allergies. I could see it. Air purifiers in three rooms. Nose spray on every nightstand. Special pillow protectors. That family did not need me to make the home look pretty. They needed me to make it breathable.
I ask my clients on the first visit what matters most to them. And then I honor that. Because your home is not a puzzle for me to solve. It is a place where you live and love and rest.

I want to be honest with you about something. Almost every client apologizes to me on the first visit. They apologize for the dishes. For the pile of laundry on the chair. Fifteen years of cleaning homes in Alexandria and the DMV area teaches you patterns. I know that the family who leaves shoes at the door probably has kids under twelve. I know that if there is a Peloton in the guest room, the client wakes up at 5 AM. I know that the beautifully organized spice rack means someone loves to cook. I know that the sink full of coffee cups means the client is running on caffeine and stress.
I do not judge these patterns. I use them. If you love to cook, I make sure your stove and backsplash are showpiece level. If you wake up at 5 AM, I know your bedroom is your sanctuary and I clean it accordingly. If you have small kids, I know your baseboards need extra attention because they get kicked, banged, and touched by little sticky hands.
Your home tells me how to serve you. All I have to do is pay attention.
